THE REPUBLIC Ask yourself this question, "What would America become if extremists on both the left and right got their way in everything?" This is what happens in. . . THE REPUBLIC Set a few years in our future, various extremist agendas have been codified into law. The new Freedom of Commerce, Life, Information, Education, Taxation, and other Freedom Acts mean "security and freedom" for everyone, because nothing is regulated, but everything is controlled. All media are monitored and government-approved: Internet, radio, newspapers, publishing. Abortion is illegal, punishable by death. Church attendance and baptism are mandatory. Divorce is illegal. Government "interference" with commerce is gone: no food or water inspections, no drug approvals, no price restrictions. Military service is compulsory. Public education is underfunded until it collapses, so only private religious schools continue. ID cards report your every move: being caught without a card is a crime. All immigrants, green-card and illegal, are expelled along with their children. War in the Middle East sparks riots in Europe, but details are sketchy. Self-appointed Neighborhood Patrols enforce curfews and morals. Justice is for the rich and party members. Indoctrination splits kids from parents. Starting on January 1st of a new year, America wakes to a changed land. The Alden family - Frank, Martha, John, Pam, Peter, and Katie - were apolitical. But as the year progresses and repression grows, tragedy strikes the family in unexpected ways. Finally galvanized, the family decides to fight back. But how? And is it too late? See the exciting trailer below, then visit THE REPUBLIC Website for more information on this frightening series that just might come true! THE REPUBLIC Featurette
THE LOST ONES The time: Today The place: Your town They could be your friends, your neighbors, your lovers. They could be famous, or an unknown, rich, or poor. They are: The Lost Ones. Descendants borne of the original survivors of the atomic blasts in Hiroshima and Nagasaki that ended World War II, they are either the next phase of human evolution or nature's sadistic retribution against the folly of man's war machine. For each Lost One possesses a singular power whether that be the ability to hold armies at bay, infiltrate the tightest security, or survive in any environment from the deepest ocean to the airless void of outer space. Security was tight at Los Alamos during World War II. All resources were being directed towards one large weapon that would create the largest explosion ever generated by man. So it was easy to get funding to study the effects on those survivors of the first two atomic blasts used against a general populous. Afterall, the effects of that much radiation was still unknown. But as the second generation was born with no visible differences, the study was abandoned. Except for one lone individual who kept watch, checking those on whom he could keep track. But many more were lost over the years, moved to all corners of the globe and married into many different races and ethnicities. Then, with the third generation, things changed. From the mind of Ken Penders, author, artist, producer, and director, comes THE LOST ONES with a single question: Can they and normal humans live together in harmony, or will one destroy the other? And who else might be, a Lost One? R U 1, 2? Production pics from THE LOST ONES
